manual tranny

brand new to this site--just pulled my pass side cv axle and went and got another thought i'd do the brakes as well--question it is a 93 civic ex with 160,00 first real mechanical problem--need 3 quarts of tranny fluid parts store couldn't tell me what i needed any help or do i have to call a dealership and get ripped off?--sorry didn't do a search need to get back out to the garage--any help appreciated--what kind brand and weight
