Hello People,

What can i say, Great Site!

My name is Chris am i am working on an exciting new event which will be having its debut in October 2002. Here is some information for you, please have a read.

Cannonball Events, on behalf of ‘Children in Need’ are launching an annual event like no other! The Cannonball Run Europe 2002 will be a "Track Day Tour" of Europe, and will take place from 6th until 12th October 2002.

Does driving 2,863 miles (as was the distance of original Cannonball Run in the USA), three track days, and three nights of champagne-fuelled partying sound good to you? The Cannonball Run Europe is about to fulfil all your driving fantasies. Your journey will take you through German Rheinland, down leafy French avenues, along winding mountain passes in the Swiss Alps at sunset, and skirting the Mediterranean. Sights and sensations you will never forget will be greeting your eyes on an hourly basis.

The route will whisk you across an entire continent, passing through 11 countries on the way, and will test your physical and mental endurance close to the limits. There will be times that are relaxing and times that are taxing, but the overall sensation will be
that of excitement. Two European racing circuits and one drag-strip will be taken in on the way, and it will be at these famous locations that you will have a chance to really see what your vehicle can do.

Each day will bring a new set of challenges and mini-adventures, and every approaching mile will bring the unexpected.

If the smell of adrenaline makes you feel sick, then don't bother- we don't need you. But if you seriously think that you have what it takes to face up to the enormity of this challenge, and if you are not afraid to throw yourself directly into the hands of fate, then we invite you to join us for the ride of your life!

Sounds like the scenery and roads will be slightly better than in the states. Good luck with the event! (and if Warren Mosler wants in, let him, it will make sure a north american company will win )

why do you think the scenery is better? We got all the same in the U.S.
rockies instead of alps, hilly roads in kentucky, and florida keys instead of mediteranean...... all in one country

But Europe is much smaller. Going from Washington state to South Florida is like 4000km or something wild like that. England to Italy is 1000.

US and Canada has better scenery and roads if you get out of the city once in a while.

I've been east to Ottawa, to London, and all the way to Tofino (North Vancouver Island). And we drove. I didnt find it to great (could have had something to do with me not driving, crappy car, same trans-canada highway, and boring parents).

LK always tells the truth lol you always tell people how it really is in europe

chris italy isn't on the opposite side of europe...

As you can see, Italy is one of the extremes, it is opposite of Norway, and pretty far away from england.

yeah, exactly... don't you consider ukraine and all those eastern countries european??

Yes, but Italy is the extreme South. Adn those other countries are kinda messed up. So I usually just mentally come up with the EU for Europe (do you consider Honduran North America??)

i thought you were measuring it from left to right... but you're measuring it top to bottem right?

Top to bottom, yup. And I always thought of Italy as being one of the extremeties.
