Question My GT1 only runs a 9 second 0-60, Why?? And what are good mods for a GT1?

My 2002 Grand Am GT1 only runs a 9 second 0-60.
I just took the car over form my dad and i am putting some mods on it. I've done the 0-60 time about 10 times, prior to putting the mods on, and it all averages out to about 9, which is horrible considering pontiac says it does it in under 8.
It already has 22k on it, but i wouldn't think that would affect it. Anyone have any idea what needs to be replaced or cleaned to regain some power?
I'm looking to put mods on the car too. As of now i'm getting a borla exhaust and a k&n filter, any other good mods that anyone knows of for the GT1s?

Thanks!

It all depends on the weather and traction....

is it a v6 or i4? try a simple tune up and oil change. if that doesnt work then try a new car.

Well Your engine now is at the point where it has been "broken in". Depending on how it was "Broken in" will depend on the life of the engine, wether it dies, gets faster, slower etc... It might now have been broken in propely.

is your 0-60 time right, how are you doing it. i would go to a real drag stip and do a few runs there. you should run a mid 15's in the 1.4 mile with the 3400.

my mom has a 99 grand am GT ram air 4 door.. i never took it to the track, but i have a g-tech pro which i used on it a lot.. i think the best time i saw on it was a 7.0sec 0-60 with the traction control off on a dry road.. And last year at the track i saw GT's running 15.4's all day.. And if you are wondering about the top speed, my moms 4 door GT maxes out at 122mph and will not go any faster.. its drag limited.. i used a 5 mile stretch of road here in rochester which is very straight and flat.. And just so you know, i'm not some young punk that beats on his moms car... I'm 23 yrs old, i have a 99 SVT Cobra, and a 04 civic DX both payed for by myself..
