TACH READINGS
I've been reading some posts and it seems that most stock ludes have 4000 rpm @ 80 mph. Is this true or does it varies? Does reving too much hurt the engine? I have an 1985 Prelude stock (@ least i think it is). 3500 rpm @ 80 mph / 4350 rpm @ 110 mph POST ur tach readings & opinions. |

any time your engine spins it wears out, when you redline your car it is obviously spinning very fast which causes wear on the bearings, in the case of hondas very little compared to most other cars, honda machining is incredible, never deviate from original honda bearings, mine looked pretty good at 137k miles

Thanks for the information. Is there any way to adjust the gear ratio? or is that option for tuned up cars?
