1st High Preformance Mod ?? R33 gtst
What would be the best mod to do on you car to improve it by a lot ?? R33 gtst

HEY
There is no quick way to easy power gains without spending big amounts of money. If your car is stock and you are looking to do a fair amount of work it is best to prepare your engine for theses stresses. 1) sports exhaust (preferably 3" cat back) 2) front mount intercooler & airpod 3) turbo timer (essential before uping the boost as ur motor will fry when switched off) 4) Boost controller 5) Air/fuel computer (or go all out and get a complet engine management system) 6) upgrade fuel rail, injectors and pump 7) Turbo upgrade + custom exhaust manifold + port and polish 8) Suspension (no point having power if u cant get it to the ground) + sports clutch + good tyers 9) For precise timing and extra tuning ability stage 2 cams and cam gears 10) Stand alone ingnition module (for higher boost levals new strong crankshafts conrods ect will be needed) These mods will have u a street leegal kick ass car (pushing the 300kw - 400kw boundary depending on turbos) low 12's 11's if ur lucky |

Also dont forget ur brakes (lol) dont wanna end up in a tree
(there are more tid bits u will need to do eg surge tank when upgrading fuel system ect but your mechanic will advise u of those) |

A good boost controller is definitely a good investment though. suspension would be a great mod to get too. A good set of lowering springs should cost you around $400-800 depending on where and what you get. but they'll really make a difference in the handling of your car. many good suspension places around. all the other things that were listed like upgrade turbo or fuel and computer management system are extreme. these will cost too damn much so i wouldnt even consider those for a Gts-t. but just to give an example, a fuel management system would be between $1000-3500 and a turbo upgrade would be around the same.

Yeah im from sydney next to Banks
But my car already has a Exhaust system and i just put my Huge Front mount last Sat at my workshop cost me $1250 with pipes. My car is pritty fast but i just need to work on the engine more and a huge turbo. Where u from? Do u know how much it would cost for complete engine work? |

WHy wouldnt you recommend a ECU system on my gtst?
Whats so bad about that? I'm getting a Micro tech done on my skyline costing me around $1600 That should stop the bogging on my car when i run high boost |

I'm assuming for that price it would be either the MT(x)8 or MT(x)12. of course this is better than the stock system, if you can afford it then go for it. Of course you'll need the whole package of bigger injectors, bigger fuel lines and rails and maybe a surge tank to really get full potential. OKay, as for bigger turbo. Everyone always raves about them and they have kits for pretty much anything. Another really good site is http://www.japanesemotorsport.com.au/ the only problem is they're in South Australia but i'm sure they could ship whatever you wanted to you. PLus the advantage here is that these guys have secondhand turbos and parts so you could get it for cheaper. COmplete engine work, as in building the whole engine up to withstand more power.... well this will vary from workshop to workshop depending on how much they'll charge you for labor since labor will be a big expense here. your car is obviously gonna need better brakes too. but don't know much there, sorry man. hope i've helped.

Your a great help. I have already checked out that CAPA site and thats where i think i would purchase my turbo from. With Labour i own a Workshop and i will get my mechanic to do it for free ITS just getting the forged pistons etc done is the prob. I know im gonna need bigger brakes for my car which should be fine. Im not sure what sort of Microtech it is BUt i am reassured by my mechanic its top of the line and to be honest aslong as my car stops bogging and put the right fuel to my engine i will be very happy. I got my Hybrid FRont mount done on Sat I feel a diff already especially in this hot weather. I will check out the Jap motorsports site soon. looks good though. Im building up my car for my Workshop for like advertising and hopefully in around 6 months it will be a really really fast beast. Well thanks heaps for your comments and if you have anything other tips to say please say. |

why wouldnt you get a bolt on japanese turbo from online, from say Nengun or Greenline?
Jap kits include everything you (or the mechanic) needs - dont have to spend a cent more. the two aforementioned places are probably the cheapest places to buy from online. Alternatively you could try 2nd hand stuff? dean from upimports in melbourne has a shitload of 2nd hand stuff forsale online. www.upimports.com.au as for the "best mod" ... a guy is running stock turbo and bolt ons and doing 12.5sec quarter miles in his r33 with a 115mph terminal speed...not bad for bolt ons and stock turbo! of course NOS helps too - but obviously this is not very streetable. for a street solution and money wasnt really an object, and you want to have something relatively driveable, i'd get either of the following 2 turbos: 1. trust td06 20g 2. hks 3037 either of these turbos' will be good for about 250-270kw at the wheels whilst still retaining a good level of response. you will need injectors and fuel pump at the least... if you dont want to spend quite that much, then there really is no better bolt on solution than a hks 2530, 2535 or 2540 - depending on your driving style. 2530 having best response, 2540 worst (but still better than a 3037 or td06) but better top end. |

check this place out for turbos http://www.japparts.com.au/, the turbo section is down atm but im pretty sure they were heaps cheaper than http://www.capa.com.au/turbo_bb.htm but like i said turbos part was down
