pyramid is about the shittiest brand of stuff you can buy, there products are so overrated it aint even funny, me and my boy bought an 800w pyramid amp back when we first got our cars, the amps barely pushed like 160w total, they sucked so much.

wouldnt even waste my time with this set.

for a beginner......JVC all the way...

I've owned 4 Jvc headunits over the years, and have NEVER had a problem with any of them....and at about $150 a pop, you really cant beat it.

I have a pioneer premier headunit with the organic display. (the first one), its like 2 years old, but it rules. I've had it fixed 3 times though. I had a ground problem in my old car, and it kept frying the internals of the unit. D'OH!!!

As far as cheap speakers, its really just a toss up between any of the big names....kenwood, pioneer, clarion.

My favs would have to be anything from boston or infinity...Both company's quality is awsome.

DO NOT GET ALPINE TYPE R SUBS

Now with that said, the apline dvc 12" sub was a VERY good speaker, but with a very SHITTY design flaw. I dont know anyone else who has these, and if this is common with these speakers, so bear in mind this is based on my own personal experience.

I have one of these, and it is now garbage. The speaker leads going from the terminals to the speaker cone are too short. So when the speaker moves, it slowly rips the small 14 gauge wire lead from the cone, and eventually causes the speaker not to work. I have done everthing from gluing the wires in place, to adding extra length of wire, but eventually, the same thing happens.

What I really want now, is 2 Infinity Kappa 8's.....but fucking they stopped making them a year ago. The smallest thing they have is 10". I want to mount 2 high quality 8's in a OEM fashion somewhere in my hatch. So getting a 10 is not an option. Im going for good sound, minimal mounting space. I've been looking at some boston 8", and they look pretty sweet, but the price is a little high. Anyone have any other suggestions as an alternative?

if you want really great subs, get JL Audio, i've always hear nothing but good response from anybody with JL subs....there pricey..but everybody says there worth the extra cash....i have no clue if they make JL 8'' though....I was also looking to buy 8'' subs...i dont want trunk rattling blasting hurting your ears so much you can't understand the words to the song- kinda sound, just more bass, to make the music sound great....

Some of these little punks stole my JL Audio 12's subs. I had a Sony Xplod headunit and changer, and pioneer speakers. Speakers ran on seperate amps and I had a nice crossover too. The system was off the chain and I miss it dearly But it is all good, because I'm coming back bigger and better. I already got the Audiobahn 15's with my headunit from ebay on the way, oh yeah, not gonna forget the alarm. Everytime I see these little thugs walking through here I just want to

Nah I don't know who did it really, but the neighbors were telling me about these teenagers that are always getting into trouble around here. One stays about 5 doors down and another stays behind our house, but they hang out in big groups and play basketball at the house behind me at all times of the night.
