Hold your horses....

Let's clear up a thing or two first.

I don't beleive it is possible to fit a VG30dett from a 300zx into you tiny little sentra. It's a V6 engine with different mounts, etc...

Well... correction... anything is possible with billions of $$$.
It's just not worth it.

I would keep your sentra as a daily driver. Then buy something with some potential and do an engine swap, or build up the existing.

for example...
Nissan 240sx drop in SR20det or RB series and make Silvia/skyline type.
2000 Nissan Sentra SE and drop in bluebird SR20
Mitsubishi 3000GT and upgrade to TT and build the hell out of it.
Toyota MR2 (91-95) and upgrade turbo systems.
early 90's celicas... drop in 2.7L Tacoma pickup engine and Turbo heavily.
NO HONDUHS

their are lots of fun project cars. But, if you are going to spend some dough, I wouldn't spend it on a 95 sentra.

Not hating 95 Sentra's... just saying there are better platforms

Cool

The reason i wanted to do a 95 sentra is that nobody really has one that will blaze around here.
So what kind of engine do you or any body suggest.

I would think you would be able to find a SR20det front drive for around $2000 + install. With a couple simple mods you should be able to push 250 hp. In a car as light as a 95 Sentra.. You should fly!

Another option would be to get a CA18de and turbo it. I don't remember if the CA18det comes in a front drive variety or not.

If you wanted you could get an SR20de and turbo that.

Any of those would work fine, but rememberyou'd be by far best off to get an engine from a front wheel drive car. The 300ZX TT engine is intended for a rear-wheel drive car and is mounted longitudinally in the engine bay. Front wheel drive Sentra's have the engine mounted transversely, or "sideways." The 300ZX's engine is not intended to be mounted transversely and would require VERY extensive modifications such as huge front flares and wheel track extension to allow the engine to fit.

However, Nissan also makes some incredible 4 cylinder engines ( mostly listed in the above post) that are intended to be mounted transversely or are at least compatible that way.

a bluebird or gti-r sr20det would probably give you the most bang for your buck. Apart from the engine itself you would need mounts, ecu, tranny and axles. This engine is turbo stock and built to withstand about 400whp on stock internals, it would be more than enough for anything you're planning on.

Well, your transmission might not be SR20DET compatible. In doing an engine swap, you would need to obtain the transmission that's intended to be used with that particular engine. If the engine donor car was available in either manual or auto, then you can use either one. However, some of the performance oriented Nissans were only offered with a manual transmission, so if you used an engine from one of them you would need to use the appropriate manual transmission.

you would probably have to swap in a b13-b14 se-r transmission. Auto or manual probably wouldn't matter, but if you're swapping the entire transmission anyway you would probably want to go to a 5-spd
