Bad Boys 2: Movie Review

ok im back at it with my bro, just 1 day after my vacation, anyway here goes:

Bad Boys 2 is bigger, badder, and funnier than the first. The action scenes were highly suspenseful and exciting to watch. The movie seemed longer than the first too, fitting more of the good stuff into it.

The movie finds are duo of smith and lawrence again in Miami this time to infiltrate a ecstasy drug lord and his crime ring. They get much needed help from all angels in this one, not being able to handle the biz themselves.

Tons of action, suspense, and a great story line will keep you on your toes for this one, not to mention all of the great humor that went into this film(especially reggie, the date you'll know what i mean)

I recommend this film to anyone looking for a great film to see, and especially if you saw the first one and couldnt wait to see this one.

3-1/2 Stars Of 4. Rated R for violence, language, gore, and nudity.

Approx. 2hrs 20min

just got back from seeing this one....

I agree on being a good movie from start to finish...I was nice to watch a movie, and not want to look at your watch..

I was suprised in how much more graphic violence there was than the first one. Action sequences were awsome.

I also want to rave about it. I saw it tonight with my girlfriend. And we both loved it. Great action scenes. And its was a long movie. But I was on the edge of the seat my whole time. 2 Thumbs up

I saw this movie on friday when it came out and it was a badass movie. The action scenes were great as was the comedy. Smith and Lawrence together sure make a good team. Even though it was somethin like 2 1/2 hours long, it never just dragged on, it always kept you watching.

Alright heres my thoughts about it.

I was totally dissapointed with bad Boys 2. After waiting 8 years since the original movie, I have come to expect much more then I received from the movie. The director makes this a film all on its own, sequels usually involve something from the original film coming back to haunt the actors of the sequal... an unsearched lead, someone who got away, etc. This doesnt happen in BB2

The only thing BB2 has that BB1 has - is the cast. Which after 8 years, doesnt seem to have the same chemistry it did from the original BB1. Marcus has grown to become a super sissy, and Mike is still the playa pimp daddy. Not feeling the new vibe at all.

The action scenes werent enough for me, yes there was lots of car chasing and shoot-em-up crap, with lots of special effects - but I didnt connect with it at all. Action scenes are supposed to make you feel like you are right there, experiencing the action right along side the actors - which is why when you leave a high action flick you always feel pumped up and want to go kick someones ass or go speeding around the parking lot ... but, BB2 is just filled with too many "well now that cant really happens" - sorta like FF1 & 2F2F that it just makes it impossible to make you feel involved.

e.g. take the scene with the Hatians trying to jack the money from the truck, in town like 30 cars slam into each other - and they all get out and start shooting at the cops... why is it that within 5 seconds all the civilians have managed to get out of their cars and excape to safety where they wouldnt be involved in the cross fire? Why is it that guys with full auto weapons cant hit anyone, action movies HAVE to have people die - both good and bad, but yet it seems the cops with semi auto handguns can plink the bad guys out with 20 rounds filling every inch around them, but just not where they stuck their head up and fired right? Riiiiiiiiight

In conclusion; this movie didnt even need to be called Bad Boys 2, but could have been named anything else and probably done just as well. The film lacks any real content and any connection to the original Bad Boys. Not to mention its long and drawn out, and doesnt get too exciting till the last half hour. Which again, is just filled with too much BS to make it anything worth watching if you are either A. a movie buff or B. a cop buff

For the action and what not I agree with the 3.5 outta 4 stars

But for the movie itself, 1 outta 4

good feedback sparq, i do agree with your points, but you gotta get into a movie-viewing mind, of course its unrealistic and alot of scenes were flawed, but its a movie to entertain not indulge your brain with tasty insights.

after the ferrai light was shot, the very next scene it was back, then broke again later on.

the hummer's side mirror was clearly ripped off, but next scene it was back in place(now that scene was totally unbeilievable) but you gotta have a free mind about these films, that im just here to have fun, and dissect every movie portion for intellectual gain.

Dont forget right after "Whats your job description" and then he X's over "tactical" - camera cuts away and now tactical isnt X's over. There is no "movie viewing mind" - thats what the movie is supposed to give me. Its supposed to have a plot so good im not worried about the little details, I dont notice them because im too into the movie to care.
