Removing Tint Film

Any of you guys ever remove your tint film? i need to take mine off because i got pulled over the other day and issued a warning. i'm working on getting something ecsponged from my record and a minor misdemeanor like that would rule me out for ecspongement. also, is the adhesive hard to get off once you get the film peeled?

amonia is pretty much the key. It'll get rid of the adhesive stuff under the film. You can basically take a razor and peel the hole thing off in one sheet if you good. Dont pull too hard on the film or it's gonna tear and split and then you can't pull it off together and you get to spend all day getting your 'spots' with a razor.

GL!

be very very careful with a razor blade so as not to cut the lines to your defrost if you are working with the back window... if you are just doing the side window then use a razor blade to get under the edge of the tint and pull carefully as MaxCG said... if you are good you should be able to get it all in one piece. After that a product called Goo Gone works very well with removing adhesive

ever looked through a very dark tint window at night? i would assume so since you are asking how to take tint off... *anyways* the tint on your windows is no different than wearing sunglasses for the most part. do you wear dark sunglasses in the night? the point is the law is there to keep people safe, when you cant see out the window well you are more likely to have an accident...

that being said, I wish they would allow light tinting on side windows... I want dark tint on my back 3 windows and a lighter tint of the same shade on my driver and passenger window but I can do without the ticket and the tint so oh well...

i just took my tint off of my car a few days ago. my damn drunk ass friend in back found a air bubble and decided it would be nice to pop it and peel a bunch of tint off.

anyhow, I got about 3/4 windows off in one big piece of tint.
the last window was the one my friend peeled and it was a bit of a bitch.

they need tint that is dark during the day and light at night.....like those transition lenses for glasses.... that'd be cool.

Actually, the law against window tint is so that the police can see INTO your car. It's for the safety of the police, not the motorist. If your windows are tinted, police can't see if you're reaching beneath your seat, or into your glovebox, or trying to hide something, etc. Cops approach cars with tints using a lot more caution, and keep a hand close to their gun just in case. I hate the law because i love having my windows tinted, but i understand why it's in place. Oh well.

he got a promotion!?

i thought for a long time you could put whatever you wanted as long as it wasn't on like the front or back so people could see 'threw' the car while driving.

ahh tint shouldn't be a big issue. especially in florida since it's so hot.

tint

my friend and I haf to yank an old window off of an rx7 for his cause somebody really liked his cd player. Thats all they took. (arkansas, need I say more) Anyways, the old window had tint, film, and adhesive in just strips all over. Ten minutes with soapy water and a razorblade did the trick. By the way, his tint is 5% now. That's pretty freakin dark.
