broken timeing belt.. engine toast?
My girlfriend's car (94 integra ls) recently broke it's timing belt.
I'm told that the engine made no noises, it just shut off. So I'm wondering, what are the odds that the engine is ruined? |

Probably pretty good. You'll know when you take it apart. How long did the car go without the belt being changed?

Bent valves and a torn up head. Buy a new head on ebay and get that bad boy installed. Ready to go. Or you just LS/VTEC, but you did say it wasn't ur car.

Yea. not my car.
....and belt had 120k miles on it!!! is engine damage gaurenteed on belt breakage? The mechancic thinks that it's a toss up (50%) that it's good or bad. |

No guarentee with that much mileage on the belt. Up to 90k your ok but 120k they won't warranty it.
