O/T Court etiquette

Just received my court date for a minor fender bender accident. I pleaded not guilty and Im going in front of a jury. Is there any good advice anyone can offer me when going to court. Im 17 so I kno im going to get the teenage driver thing in the ass, but I still want to try.

i know it's really hard....but for the 4 hours you sit in court in front of that judge....make him pull you off his ass...the jury too...sometimes it pays to kiss ass....other than that ya know, wear formal clothes, not a suit and tie...and act normal, be serious...talk professional...and u'll be fine... good luck man

So, is this your first time in court?

What on earth were you charged with? I've been to traffic court a billion times, and I've never had to go in front of a jury, even for a criminal misdemeanor...

I doubt you'll have a jury. did you just get a ticket and check the "contest" box when you sent it in?

Well having asian parents, they wanted me to contest the improper lane change ticket because I was hit by a lady in her mid 20's. My car got da shit beat outta it, the lady got a lil scratch and because Im a teenager, it became automatically my fault. And Yes, I pleaded not guilty and I had the choice of either going in front of the judge directly, or in front of a jury. From my friends' stories, the judge will be prejudice down to the core. Better take my chances with the jury. So thats my story. Gosh.. crazy caucasian women wit grand marquis cant drive. >.<

just as he said before, act professional, and put some feeling into your thoughts and statements, if you act like an adult they will hear your side out and not just rule in her favor.

good luck my man.

Wear a suit and tie.
Stand when the judge comes in.
ALWAYS address the judge as, "Your honor". Preface each of your answers with "Your honor."
Make sure you are standing any time you are speaking directly to the judge.
Be calm, cool, and courteous. Dignified.
That's it!
Do that stuff, and he'll think you're a lawyer.
