A new Eclipse

i am trying to buy a new car and am thinking about getting a GSX or GST. i like the GSX better but i was wondering how much money it would cost to buy new turbos and piping and basic stuff like exhuast turbo timer. also how much horsepower can i get out of this car? and for the owners how do u guys like the car is it fun to drive? will it pass smog if i put new turbos? srry i live in the gay smog police state of california. tahst why i have to sell my B20 widebody civic hatch.

You can get anywhere from 210-900 horsepower from a gst or gsx. I recomend a garret t4. It will put u at about 400-450 hp which is perfect for a streetable eclipse. It will run about $5,000 to get all of the parts required.

You see, DSM engines come from the factory, very well built. No need to do a JDM type swap like the Honda boys.
The only swap you need to consider is a 90-92 engine, pretty much the same as a 93-99 eninge but without the chance of crankwalk. If you dont know what crankwalk is, do a search or look back at older threads, there is a ton of info already posted, which does not need to be posted again.
400HP is easilt attaniable only with a turbo swap and some supporing mods, no need to spent thousands of dollars to get alot of HP out of these engines, a far cry from any honda engine.

edit: please for the love of God, change that signature

the best year will be the 99

dont worry about 10s right now, focus on getting the car and getting into the 13s. when you get there, you should learn enough to get into the 10s probably, probably will take like 3 different setups to get there anyway

Yes, thank you.

Just like FourG63 97GST said just worry about finding a good car, not running 10's. Hell I've had my TSi 6 monthes already, and I'm not shooting for 12's until next summer.
