Need hints on painting
I got stuck with my Porsche 911GT3 model
I can't paint body properly. Painting with brush is a kind of hell... I painted roof and hood quite good, but paint won't stick to the sides of the body. Than I've bought sprayer and loaded it with thinned paint (tamiya acrylic). The same result - everything painted but the sides :-(( Pls help me it's just my second model. First I've done whole with brush, and it doesn't look perfect Thanks Vic |

Brush painting! Arrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhh!
Do a search for my thread on the Subaru WRX, it has fully detailed painting instructions. Just substitute the automotive paint for Tamiya acrylic! Good luck! BTW, oven cleaner will strip that paint off like water if you don't like it! Just spray some on, leave it for an hour, and then wash off with water! Easy! |

I discovered probably the best remover for acrilyc paint which do not damage plastic parts - Revlon enamel remover (which my wife
use to remove nail polish). Unfortynately I need to remove all body paint again 'couse it looks ugly |

Welcome to AF!!!
![]() Nail enamel remover is good. You'll be amazed at the array of tools you'll have at your disposal after raiding your wife's beauty junk. Between my wife and I, I think we have 6 pairs of tweezers. :hehe:pkw1 is right; it sounds like primer is what you need. Look for Tamiya primer in a spray can, that stuff is awesome! Is it the Tamiya kit you're doing? Are you only having trouble with the body color? 'Twas a wise decision to find a way to spray the body, it will save you immesureable frustration. And again, welcome to the group!

Read Dans thread about his WRX....that will help you out heaps. A very good write up. Find a bin for those brushes when it's body painting time !!!! The CLK's are all the same kit just different decals.
