That 70,000,000,000 WAS used to save lives....... Time will only tell how many Kurds lives it saved and how many lives in the middle east it saved(such as Israel). Or how many American lives it saved.

Will the Kurdish lives you say it saved offset the number of Kurdish people killed?
Will the American lives lost in this 'war' offset the number of lives saved?
Can you tell the parents of those troops that have died why they will never see their sons and daughters again?

I would consider the money used to save lives if it had been used to research cures for things like AIDS and Cancer, if it had been used in some famine stricken country in Africa or SW Asia. Using the money to facilitate a better flow of oil from the middle East is not exactly saving lives....

If the English government actually spent that much on the UK Army or anything else i would be surprised.

Since its the US and it has one of the biggest militaries in the world i'm not surprised its cost that much for the war.

although whats the annual figure when not engaging in war. Its not like they use older bombs they have to be replaced if not used. Then you still have to pay salaries etc etc. I'd like a better overview of the whole budget thing.

IE

The cost for running the army for 1 year (without a war) and the cost for running the army with a war. Then i might be inclined to comment. So does anyone know?
