first of all, the 3SGTE motor is a factory turbocharged motor... please do your research before making a post like this. Second, the "best" NA (naturally aspirated) motor for the 91-95 MR2 (I'm assuming you live in the USA?) is the 3SGE. These motors are incredibly hard to come by in America, and were made in the NA MR2s in Japan. The BEAMS Gen IV 3SGE puts out 200 horsepower with the help of VVTL-i and a bunch of other NA enhancers. Be prepared to spend at least $5000 to get one over on US soil and even more to make it work in your MR2. A turbo 3SGTE already makes 200 horsepower from the factory and can be readily found in America. If you are looking for power then it's the motor to have. Going all motor with the MR2 is almost pointless in my opinion, since it will still be slower then just a lightly modded turbo.
The NA motor in the USA is the 5SFE, which is a 2.2 liter Camry motor that puts out 130 (or 135) horsepower. Go to www.board.mr2faq.com if you want a larger MR2 community to talk to |
