wax
when you guys polish your models and come to the waxing part how long do you leave the wax on before wiping off?
iv got tamiya wax and tryed to wax. i rub some on the models and then wipe off straight away like the bottle said but it still never goes shiny. please help thanks

Are you sure you read the bottle right?
Tamiya wax isn't supposed to be left on the finish, or it will mar the paint. Automotive caranubas and synthetic formulations are the ones you leave to dry to a haze.

Try using Meguiar's model wax. I used it on my WRX STi and it turned out great! All you gotta do is rub it on and then wipe it off right away. Then after that all you gotta do is buff it with like a piece of paper towel.

Meguiars is a car product that works wonders on models. it comes in alldifferent types as well. from hard buffing formula to micro-scratch remover to wax. i recomend any one try this product for the sickest finish youll ever see! i personally use a different product called Novus #1, #2, #3. the reason being is that is is a plastic restoration polish and is formulated just for acryllic which is all i use.

Right now im using Meguiars Wax, it works wonders for model paint jobs, it gives it a great shine even if ur car is dull.

Meguires products
 I saw a new Meguires glazing compound at Autozone the other day that I am dying to try, it says its paintable! Anyhow I now I use the Palastic Cleaner, Plastic Polish , Cleaner Wax and good old carnuba and the shine is incredible

whaaaaa??? In that tutorial, he uses an 11 step method with 10!! different products. I can't help but think he's just repeating the process with many of them..... I'm sure he could go to wax after just a few of them and get the same shine. Does anybody else think using 10 products is a little excessive?

MMMMMMMMMMMM possibly, but then to give a 1:1 that show shine its a long process.
I think anyone considering polishing a paint job should consider that it is very time consuming and slow. And its not a fix for a bad paint job either. If you can do it in 4 steps all the more to you, but I bet the 11 step car will always oushine you. My personal process is from 6 to 9 or 10 steps depending on the quality of paint job I start with. And I use from 3 to 6 different products
