Heater Core
I am attempting to replace the heater core in my 92 Jetta GL w/ A/C. I took most of the dash apart, and am now stuck. Do I need to remove the entire dash? Or just the center console? I've located the heater core, but how in the world do I remove it. I've done plenty of maintenace on VW's before, but this is a big job for me. Any help you can give would be great.
Thanks, Chris |

If it's anything like a Corrado, yes, the entire dash have to come out.

trouble getting dash out
I've removed all the obvious bolts and screws, and it still won't come out. Any ideas on where the ones are that I am missing?
Thanks, chris |

I like Chris have a leaking heater core. I have the dash completely out with all ventilation and other parts. I can see the heater and A/C boxes. How does one get the heater box out to extract the core. I have found one bolt on the firewall in the engine by that I think may be it. Once this is removed, will the heater box and core come out?

Re: Heater Core
Holy cow man did you not check and see if there is a recall on that? Traffic and saftey website should have it all. THere has been a lot of years that recalled the heater core because we wouldn't want to scall someone in the name of trying to make more money as if it wore out.
