Looking for a 5 series

Hello all. I am the owner of a 2000 saab 9-5 aero, but am now considering a bmw 528i. I would appreciate thoughts fro those of you in colder climates/snow belts ( I live in new Hampshire) regarding driveability in snow.

Any problems with the 1998 or 1999 model years to be aware of? What about high mileage? Any concerns.
