The L-Series is based on the same platform as the Opel/Vauxhall Vectra. It also shares the platform with the last-generation Saab 900/9-3.

o cool but i must say it obviously has no intirior relation with saab cause i rented a stripped down L200 and that was the most uncomfortable cheaply built car iv'e ever driven though the exterior wasn't bad.id like to drive a fully loaded L300 w/the chrome wheels n stuff that outta be better.

Actually the Saturn L-Series is based on the Opel Vectra B (a.k.a. Vauxhall Vectra), model years 1996-2002, as the Saab was based on the Opel Vectra A (a.k.a. Vauxhall Cavalier mk3) which had the model years 1989-1995. The current generation Saab 9-3 is then again based on the current Opel Vectra C.

Ok, this info was possibly useless for you already, but because there was incorrect information given, somebody might think that it was true, as nobody had corrected it.

And as a Opel "specialist" (I'm the webmaster and forum administator of one of the biggest Opel Clubs, the Opel Club Finland) I just couldn't leave the misinformation visible. And because this area is not very active, it was still on the front page of the area, as web forums are not like chat rooms.
