Weird Car Accident in my area

http://www.canada.com/victoria/story...C-6D5EFEBB462C

be sure to look at the first two pictures, not that the Jaws of Life were not used.

In my area, there have been more fatalities from car accidents like this year than all of last year.

people just dont learn

I wonder how they hit it? They didn't hit it straight on, but it doesn't look like they slid into it sideways, because normally when a car hits a Tree/pole sideways, it creases. (And the front is smashed in, but not creased) Yet the passenger side is torn entirely open. Hell, you can see that floor has ripped entirely off of the frame! And the aricle says that the pole ripped the roof off, however that's possible. I would say that they hit the pole from the driver's side, right behind the driver's door - but the picture isn't too good.

Maybe they sideswipped the pole, some metal caught on the pole and ripped EVERYTHING apart. True though, that's some crazy speed they were going.

My boss used to be a cop. He was telling me about a similar accident they saw. The car hit a pole, one half was 10m away from the other half...and they were scraping the driver's brain matter off the back window

Thats pretty nasty and also points out why speeding in areas with trees and poles isn't a clever idea.
