Help! Need pictures!

K, so theres this supposed 1992 16v GTI available at this local dealership near my house. Its got about 170k KM (I'm Canadian, eh) and its selling for about $3500 which I think is pretty sweet.

So today I went to look at it, and I popped the hood with the sales dude. The car is clearly a 16v GTI; it has the decals and all and on the hood label it clearly states "16v". But once we get the hood open and I get a closer look, it appears to only be an 8v!

I would assume that a 16v GTI would appear to be like most other 16 valve cars (I'm kinda new to VW), so it should have the 4 intake tubes. I told the dealer I didn't think it was a 16v and the guy who sold it to them swapped out the header with an 8v and sold the 16, but he said "No, its 16v"...

So, heres what I'm asking. Can any of you guys with 16v GTI's post some pictures of your engines so I can compare?

Thanks a bunch

I dont have any pics I can post but its pretty easy to tell the difference.
If the Intake goes into the head at the front of the car then its a 16V (or a 2.0L 8V crossflow, but I doubt thats the case). The Intake manifold will also clearly saw "16V) on the top part of the plenum.

EDIT:
Here is a pic of one of my old G60 motors. They are 8 valves (8V)... If the Intake manifold looks like the one in the picture then it is NOT a 16V.

Damn, I was right. That car is clearly an 8v.

If I buy the GTI (first and second gen are somewhat of a rarity in my city) would it be worth it even though its 8v? I'm very dissapointed that its not a 16v, and so far this is the only 16v GTI I've been able to find in my city all summer.

It depends on the rest of the car. If it is absolutely immaculate then yeah its worth it. If the paint could use some work and the interior is a bit off then I'd say to hold on to your money. We sell nice 90+ MK2's down here with 2.0L 16V's for $2500~.

It could use new paint and the front right quater pannel is dented from what appears to be a small accident.

The interior is fine though.. I think I'll just keep saving
