blue book on this car is about 4k although bb values are always lower than what dealers sell them for

i wouldn't buy this car only because i have been turned on to a better spot to shop for stangs at.... www.autotrader.com

you could probably find that same car with around the same mileage for under 3500 buying from a private party depending on where you live, try it, i live out in the sticks and i still get lots of results when i set it to search in a 200 mile radius.

just set it to these options or whatever you want

Ford
Mustang
GT
- 50,000
and your zipcode

then again there is always ebay...

good eyes audi

well i dont know the conversions for canadian money, i am just saying shop around before you make a decision

lol i guess that also means that autotrader.com is not an option as it requires a US zipcode, i suppose you could input a zip for like the closest piece of US to you for closer results...

Well, from the picture the car looks like its in pretty good shape. I'm not sure what the exchange rate is for US dollars in Canada, so I can't really help you out whether it's worth the price or not. For a vert of that year with 145k on the ticker, I wouldn't pay more then 5 grand (US) at a dealer, and that's pushing it.

thanx for thoughts guys. $8000 (cdn) is about $6400 (us) so I guess It isn't that good of a deal, I found it on www.canadatrader.com Autotrader is good as well, I use the british columbia autotrader, well I'll continue to browse around, hopefully I'll find something decent soon, I need to feel the power a real car.

thanx

Well considering the fact that I got my bone stock 91GT Conv in near perfect condition with 41,000 original miles on the clock to which I am the 2nd owner of for $5,800 (USA), I'd say that the price for that 89 conv is high, even if its in Canada.

I tend to agree. Also, $6400USD would be about $9000CDN, which is what they're asking for that one.

That being said, can you talk them down? Probably. List price is rarely final sale price. Take it down to $8000CDN and you're about $5600.00US.

The 145,000km translates to about 90,000mi.

A search for all 1989 5.0s in the autotrader with under 100,000mi resulted in only one car under $5000USD. It was not a GT. Next up the list of the 19 cars displayed was $5000.

The average price for a 1987-1993 5.0 Vert was $8,297 on a search in Auto Trader. Out of the 7 pages with good ads, it took till mid page 6 to start hitting $5000 cars. Those cars usually had 125,000mi+ on them.
