Talking 79 Z28 - my first AF project!(no pics yet)

I've been at this one for I think three days now. the interior was supposed to be tan/camel leather, but I found my brown leather paint had seen better days, so I made do with black and light blue accents. The engine detail is terrible on this kit, so I jazzed the engine bay up a little by not de-chroming the rocker covers, swapping the air cleaner for a chrome one from the parts box that I stole from(shock horror) a six cylinder car which will be linked to the radiator using the original hose. I also painted the exhaust headers blue, so they look like replica hooker headers which I saw on a 350 chevy in a car magazine(street machine, july 03 issue). the body was given two coats primer, and has had one coat tamiya TS-26 pure white. the coat was a little thick however, and has a few paint runs. when it's dry tomorrow I'll sand out the bad parts and give it another coat or two. don't whinge and whine for pics just yet, I'll have to wait until the camera gets back later tonight.(hopefully) so you can see the engine and interior. stay tuned...

the cover has Shane Feltham's HQ holden doing a big burnout, y'know the one with the 15 inch wheels, black paint, racing cell and stripped interior. oh, and a supercharged 454 chev. pics'll be up later tonight probably, if not tomorrow.

Geez, I got all excited because I picked up my latest street machine magazine and it said 07/03 on the price tag. Peeled the tag off and it says June...ahh well, I guess I am due for a new magazine...

CamaroSS:
Where did you get the blue stripes for that kit? Mine all came with yellow and orange stripes.

mine came with blue stripes as well, which is why mine is painted white. I did another coat on the hood, front bar and bumper, but I ran out of paint, so you'll have to wait until I can get more for pics of the body. in the meantime I'll try to get some pictures of the engine/chassis/interior.

Same happened to me with some Asian market dude who runs a little pawn shop near St.Peters station, I didn't mind though. I needed something to read on the 2 hour train ride back home.

I know the one you are talking about now Bloodhound, I've read that one. My friends brother has the new Street Machine Australias Best Fords issue, but I don't particularly like Ford.

I picked up the fords special today while out getting some more paint for the cammy this thread is about - about that, I got another coat in before the sun went down today and most of the body's trouble areas are gone, just one more coat should have the body beautiful looking, well, beautiful. the hood is giving me shit with a few hairs I plucked out so I might end up putting the one with the bloody big hole in it onto the car - which I don't want to do, seen as I've got these wonderful blue hood decals. sorry again, no pics yet again as my brother still hasn't lent me his digicam. I'll be sure to get pictures wen I've finished up, however. stay tuned...
