you should really just use the b16 head. much cheaper and pretty much the same thing. but use the itr intake manifold.

you know how much an b16 head cost? Iam wanting to use an type-r head because people say it is like an already build up gsr head. I know it cost an bit much but its possibly newer and produce more power.

not like a GSR head. if anything the ITR head is like a built b16 head. ive seen ITR heads go for 1000 depending where, and b16 heads for 300 and that would leave u with alot more money to build up the ls vtec.

I have plenty of experience with the whole LS/VTEC swap. I blew the motor within a few months, but don't get discouraged, cuz it can work for a long time and will work well. It's just that my head was warped bad and I had to get it milled a good amount, I figured out after that I had about 13.5:1 compression, so that'll do any motor good, in the long run. But anyways, I went with the B16 head, LS block, B16 pistons (only because the valves were tapping the pistons, the LS pistons are pretty flat, I would recommend B16 pistons unless you really did not want to take the block apart)... And another thing I would HIGHLY recommend is replacing the oil pump with either an aftermarket or any B-series VTEC oil pump. That's another thing that was wrong with my ls/vtec, the oil pressure wasn't near as high as it should have been. And that combined with the compression is eventually what did my motor in...but if you have any other questions on the swap, feel free, cuz I'm sure I can answer them, or at least do my best to try.
