Anyways, whats up people? I drive a 1995 Honda Civic DX Coupe and it just hasn't been riding like it should. I have 160,000 kms (100,000 miles) and i've had the timing belt, alternator, alternator belt, spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, oil filter and oil change done on it already. Now whenever my engine gets warm, I can put my foot down on the pedal all the way and the thing will still take awhile to move. Its seems to be lacking power and whenever the car starts to move and speeds up, the motor is revving high for a longer stretch of time. I dont know why it does this when its warm because it doesnt really do this when the engine is cool. This is kinda frustrating as Im looking to put a performance cat-back on my civic but this problem is stoppin me from doing so. Do you think the problem could be my O2 sensor? I'm not really sure. Please help me out here. Thanks!

5 speed? I would say the clutch is worn and is slipping when you hit the gas even with your foot off the clutch pedal. Also what you should try doing is getting a compression test done. I think you can buy a kit cheap...
It's just a little gauge with a tube on it which screws into where your plugs went. All you do is take out all four plugs, screw the gauge tube into the first hole, crank the engine (it won't start - no plugs are in there) until the gauge makes a 'pop' sound. On a DX it should read 180 plus or minus 10 or so. Then go through each cylinder doing the same thing. If they read low, you're losing compression and power, resulting in what you just explained. A new DX engine costs chump change but getting it installed may hurt your wallet a bit. It could be anything though and nobody would know without driving your car. Hope my 2¢ helps.

Thanks for the advice. I am gonna get the car looked at 2morrow at the Acura dealership and hopefully they figure out what the problem is. I hope it isn't too serious because I dont think I can afford or am willing to put big cash into that moter. My guess is that its the O2 sensor or possibly even the MAP sensor thats causing the problem. I'll let you guys know if they tackled the problem as soon as they've taken a look at it.

My car is at the Acura dealership right now and has been there for about 8 hours already. They are gonna close in about 10 min. or so and from what my sis says (she works there), the mechanic can't figure out what the fuckin problem is
I think its safe to say that my car is fucked so now I may consider selling it.

I actually just picked up my car from the dealership and when I went to pick up my key, my sister said that the mechanic made adjustments with the timing. Since I picked my car up late, I didn't get a chance to talk to him as he was gone home but driving the car home, I noticed that my car does idle way smoother than it did before and that it wasn't lacking power like I mentioned before. I looked at the temperature gauge and the engine was at the warm level too. Maybe this timing adjustment fixed the problem. I still gotta drive it more to really find out though.
