I got a question for anyone who knows the answer and has the time to respond. I have a 1988 mazda b2600i but the engine is messed. My question is can you swap a b2600 engine for a b2200 engine and keep the 2600 tranny? Do i need to change any drive train parts?
Do you have any engine swap suggestions? Ford Chevy? even V-8 options I am all ears. |

Re: Engine swap
Not sure, call mazda and ask the service department. i installed a 1985 nissan 300zx V6 in my 87 b2000 and the service department told me it couldn't be done. so just search and ask around or go to a junkyard with a tape measure.

If I can remember right, the 88 2.6 is a mitsu engine. I doubt the transmissions will be the same between the mitsu and mazda engine. The bellhousings might be able to be swapped.
About the nissan engine. Did it bolt up to the mazda transmission? or did you use the nissan tranny. Justin |
