Ignition Problem?
Hi, I have a 98 GMC Jimmy, and the turn signal/flasher relay continually clicks... its driving me nuts. I tried replacing the relay and checked for any burn out bulbs. The turn signals still work fine. I am beginning to think that it may be the ignition or the entire turn signal module. One more thing if you step on the brake it seems to quit most of the time. Any ideas?

Ever find out what the real problem was? I have a 98 GMC Jimmy with the 'exact' same problem. Already tried replacing the noisy flasher underneath the glovebox. No joy! Would really appreciate your experience on the subject.

No haven't bugged a mechanic.... but I did find some similar posts on other forums that suggest it is the contacts in the turn stalk. Apparently the contacts wear down and begin to short-circuit. ~$400 to fix at a dealer.

I think you can clean the contacts and it may be ok
