Exhaust Repairs

can i use jb weld to repair the muffler piping?
the welding around the piping of the muffler broke off so the piping jus hangs there. can i take jb weld to repair the piping?
i went to the muffler shop and they said 25 bucks, i have a small budget so i dont want to pay so much to get it fixed when later on ill just get the whole piping.

25 dollars is a pretty decent price. Usually just lift time costs over 40.

I've used something similar to get me by for a while.

You could also check out your local car shop, like checker, autozone, mapa, bap, etc.. Most of them sell exhuast repair kits, which usually come with some type of mesh cloth, and some sort of epoxy, which can be used to hold together piping, repair rusted out mufflers, etc... and i think they are about the same price as jb weld (about $5).

But how effective would jb weld be? I've used it on a couple things with good luck, but exhuast piping? I would have recommened midas or a muffler shop, but he said he wanted to go as inexpensive as possible, just to get by for now. Me personally, i'll live with a leak rather than use the autozone or checker stuff... but that's me.
