can anyone help???

Within the next year or so, I hope to become a first time bike owner/rider. I've read up on quite a few of these posts and I understand the pro's and con's of owning a bike as well as the dangers. So please, no lectures of dangers. I would someday like to get a Honda CBR600. That is most likely the biggest bike I'll get. Right now I'm leaning more towards a Kawasaki Ninja 250. I hear they are good starter bikes. My problem is that not only have I never owned a bike before, I've never ridden on on, nor drove one before. I know how to drive a car with a standard transmission, and I've been told that driving a bike is basically the same concept. My biggest problem is that I don't know anyone in my town with a bike to teach me how to ride. I live in Deleware at the moment. My question is, is there anywhere I can go to take classes on how to ride without having to supply my own bike? If not, how hard is it to obtain a permit to buy a bike? I obviously do not have a motorcycle licence. Another concern is insurance. I'm 25 years old and my be 27 by the time I finally get a bike. How much does insurance run for a guy my age with a clean driving record?

Thanx

Since your post does have some valid points, I won't go too much into how everyone has started a thread like it... Take the MSF motorcycle safety course. It's free in PA. Insurance won't be a problem, especially if you buy used, buy out-right and just get liability.
