Question Questions: Engine timing & custom lighting for '01 Maxima

I recently bought my first Maxima, a 2001 GXE with SE options. It has a few enhancements from the previous owner, and one thing he did was increase the engine timing from 15 to 17; still within regulations, while slightly increasing speed/acceleration (from what I've been told). My question is, if anybody can answer it, will this hurt my engine in the long run? I'm not sure if this is added wear 'n tear that might increase chances of early engine troubles. The only warning that I've been given so far is to MAKE SURE that I use premium fuel to prevent engine knocking.
Second question... I'm looking to install custom exterior lighting but having problems finding custom/euro tail lights for this year/model. I would like a clear lens but cant find them for the Maxima year 2K or above.

Can anyone help??

Welcome to the forum rioscr, first I should address the engine timing/advance:

From what I've read, seen and know of, No your engine will not/shouldn't have any problems due to this change. There are all kinds of programs (chips) that does just this kind of operation for your car.
Many car's engines come from the factory programmed for economy moreso than sport and is therefore scaled back to begin with.

Second thing as far as lights for the 2k, check out www.custommaxima.com and see what they may have over there.

Good luck and welcome to the forum and oh, please post a pic of your ride after you get the lights on it.
Peace

Already... I'm glad I joined this forum!

Here's the ride... just picture it with clear/chrome/euro taillights (which apparently can't be found ANYWHERE... not even on custommaxima.com)

Cool rio, I'm glad you joined too, I like the SE taillights I think you should stay with those.

Sorry I though that custommaxima would have the lights you were looking for. There are so many other sites out there that have stuff for Maximas but I couldn't seem to find any with the clear taillights that you are looking for.
