Engine Light

I have an Integra 1991 with 1994 Engine. I am getting the check Engine light all the time. I checked the code and it is 12 (EGR Valve System). I was told that I can never resolve this problem because the ECU and the EGR frequency Solinoid are for integra 1991 and the EGR valve is for 1994! Is this true?

Acura dealers said that they need to change the EGR Valve and the solinoid before doing any further checking but this will cost me over $500. Any suggestion, please help. E-mail me at [email protected] or at [email protected]
