Question Problem with Pioneer

I have just got a Pioneer head unit installed. Everything seemed fine with it, until I played a cd. Everytime a cd plays, the head unit blinks. I have no idea why this happens. Could anyone please help me out??? Thanks!!!

It sounds like you had someone install it for you, like a shop or something, so I'd take it back...

It would be a little helpful to specify model #'s and such so we can help you search for documentation. You can look through http://www.pioneerelectronics.com and pick USA, then click on Service and Support (upper middle part of page). Getting a manual for troubleshooting is a good start.

Yes.....this head unit is new and I did have BestBuy install it for me. Wrong move I guess......I have learned my lesson. Nothing like the word "error" appears on it, it just constantly blinks. Do you think that if someone takes out the head unit and reinstalls it, it will stop blinking? I can take it to someone that knows what they are doing. Well thanks for your help....Please let me know what else I can do. Thanks again!!!!
Oh....and I'm not sure what the model or whatever number it is but I'll look for it.

Don't you have install / labor warranty with Best Buy? Unless it was done past your warranty, they WILL have to fix it. I would bring it back and demand a new one. After all, it is YOUR money. (Can you tell I hate Best Buy?)

Since you have spent $$$ with bestbuy, I would let them fix it for you. If they cant, make them pay whoever you do get to fix the problem.

I never had a problem with Best Buy, then again they never installed anything for me.

do you mean that the colors invert, like all the green turns black and the black turns green at certain intervals, if so it's supposed to do that, it's the headunit's demo mode, you're supposed to be able to turn it off but i don't know how. it's never bothered me so i've never really looked into it.

I will go back to BestBuy and have them fix it. Thanks for your help. And no the colors do not invert. The screen is blue and it flickers, but it isn't supposed to. Thanks again!!!

you mean it flickers most likely at higher volumes. Your problem is prolly a blown fuse of some sort or a poor power supply/ground. I experience this same problem playing units in the sound boards.

Possibly.....I have no idea what's wrong with it, but hopefully it will be fixed soon. Yet, if it is due to the power supply, what can I do about that??? Thanks alot!!!!

Remove the radio & check all the connections
Could be a possible internal problem
If its a fuse, it wont work at all. That narrows that down

Did you try punching & yelling at it?
