Question about classic mustang???
well im 17 and i want to get a classic to restore.....my dad loves cars and knows alot and has taught me alot....my uncle restores cars and my other unlce reastored a chevelle so i got alot of help if i need it....in the paper this week there is a mustang for sale...well heres what the add says:
Ford Mustang- 68' Sprint Coupe 289 auto Origonal documentation, 1 owner. Needs Restoration $1,500. what i wanted to know is .....whats the Sprint Coupe??? i can't find that much info on it.... i know the mach 1 and fastback have the 289 in them.... but i would appreciate your help....thanks -RaceMySS

The only thing I could come up with is the CS model (California Special). Which is labeled CS on the side of the car.

The Mach 1 debuted as a 1969, and it never came with any engine other than a big block.
The 289 was discontinued in 1968, and they were only available in a 2bbl for 1968. The 1968 may also be a 302 if the owner is unsure. Here is a page dedicated to the 1968 Sprint Mustang's. Not much to tell about them really. They had a special pinstripe in the shape of a C on the side of the car. Otherwise, some of the V8 models came with foglamps mounted in the grille like the GT. http://www.geocities.com/~mustangs68/sprint.html

go for it! 60s mustangs are the best, and they turn heads like hell, but if its unrestored u need some car knowleade and some help... but overall its worth it like u wouldn't beleave
