about to light my car on fire and push it down a hill
my crx still isnt working. it was throwing code 1, so i took out the o2 censor and checked it, but it was brand new when i swapped the zc in , about 4 mo ago. i've replaced the dizzy ignitor, the fuel pressure regulator, the fuel filter, the fuel pump, and checked all my grounds. i have checked over my vaccum lines but still dont know if they are correct. the car will idle fine and then when i give it gas quick, it stumbles or boggs down, but if i ease the gas to it, it will run up to 4000, where it stops and dies down again. my friend said it might be a clogged cat, but the motor ran just fine before i pulled it to put the tranny on. please if you have any ideas, let me know. has anyone else been in this situation?

Im willing to bet you money it IS NOT a clogged cat. That rarely happens, and usually the symptoms would be a sluggish car, not one that wouldn't run quite right.
If you converted to MPFI, you might want to check your wiring on the TPS, as having this backwards will cause the car to run erratically. Make sure it is not throwing any more codes. and like the above person said, make sure your ECU is good. Sometimes a code1 (o2 content) doesnt mean the sensor itself is bad, it could mean the sensor is reading out of its intended range, i.e. car is running very rich or very lean. check that out, especially if its throwing any other codes. |
