Question put tape on neons?

i hate it when ppl put neons under their car, but dont bother tryin to hide the actual light. i had a pair of neons, and i had to put a lil aluminum guard against it, jus so that u couldnt see it. looked kinda weird, but it hid the lights, which was good. well my neons broke, so im gettin a set of new ones, and i was wonderin if there was a way to hide the lights usin a different method. someone told me i could get some reflective tape or somethin, where u cant see through one side of it, but the light will shine through the other side of it. where do i get that tape at? are there any other ways to hide em? cuz i bottomed out a lot on the guard. plz help

I hate that too..looks really tacky. I've never had under-car lights, but at one time I had a couple of neon's in my last car..which was for show purposes. I couldn't stand how some people just set the neon there, and leave it, without effort to hide the actual light unit. What I did..is at each end of the neon, had two little holes. I took 2 screws, and drilled two holes in the bottom of my dash (right above where the pedals are. I then screwed the screw through the neon housing, into the dash...then I did all my wiring. It looked pretty good..since you just saw a nice red glow when it was on. I have since grown out of wanting neon's..I'm much more into track racing now..so they're pointless to me.

i never really had a problem hidin the lights under the dash, but i couldnt drill em in, i had to use a lil plastic tie thing, but u still cant see em. im havin more of a problem with the underbody neons. i still have to go check this tape out that the guy told me about. he said i could get it where at places like where i got my neons, so ima search some auto stores. he supposedly used it, so it supposedly exists...supposedly.

Sure it exists...whether or not it'll work good, is something else.
