Temp gauge probs on new cluster, HELP
Ok, I bought a JDM EX gauge cluster for my '93 CX. I was told it's just plug and play which for the most part has been but when I turn my ignition key the temp needle goes to the top. When the car has warmed up to normal temperature, it shoots waaaayy past the top. Everything else works fine on the new cluster. I know everything outside the cluster still works cuz I put the old cluster back on to test it and everything worked fine. What's the deal? Please help me, yall, cuz I really want this to work properly. Thanks for any info.

What's a JDM EX cluster? There is no EX. Do you mean you got an SiR cluster? I've swapped many clusters and I would'nt suggest you taking stuff apart to figure out problems like this. Take it to a cluster place and pay. There are shops that legally roll back odometers and work clusters or just go to honda.

Did you remove the needles like we told you not to?
When I installed my guages I was thinking of removing the needles (Temp and gas) cuz it was a bitch to get the guages in but I noticed they were super sensitive. Just blowing on them will move them. Good luck though..

It's a JDM SiR cluster.... sorry for the mix up. I didn't remove the needles, take it apart, or anything. I simply put the entire cluster in and the temp gauge didn't work properly. I think I'm going to have to take it to a place like B16 said. I'm not concerned about the odom itself anymore because I can just place the old rpm gauge with my original miles on it.
