btw

i've already replaced the cap, rotor, coil, and ignition module. my next guess is a starting relay that has cold solder joints. where is the relay(s) located? i'm guessing that they are in the car. since it's when the car is hot and not the engine, when it won't start.

wiley

main relay is most likely to be to the left of the inside fuse box bolted to the side wall ,mid way up

Read this thread on page 5 or 6:

2.2L engine: Warm motor restart problem

You do have spark but the main relay is not supplying power to the fuel pump. That's why the motor will stumble sometimes when it first happens. The main relay is located up underneath the left side of the dashboard, way up above the cruise control box. My problem WAS also heat related. Cost: about $95 at a higher quality parts store. Bring your old one in to match the numbers because there are multiple numbers that will appear for that part. My parts guy crossed referenced the number to get the right one.

Easy to do yourself if you are a contorsionist and have a 10mm socket with a long extension. Skinny hands also help (you know what that means). Don't spend a dime until you replace this part. It is a very common problem. Good luck.
