Miss Alfa 156 of the world 4ever beauty

Looking at new to come 158 and never ending new restyle game…
This is really the most beautiful model in my humble opinion.
Alfa 156 Monza 2000.

Simple, unadorned and yet classic Italian expressive line without reformulated aggression in look GM would like to implement in new to come range

This is a true beauty, I think it will remain desirable even decades to come both in eyes of owners and admirers.

I guess it's an aquired taste;
Maybe I'm used to as you say, the American styling cues, but I can't get over the middle grill. It's so large.

the grill is the main point, if its smaller the car would be like any other car .

That's fairly true.
I like how the hood lines match up w/ the grille too.

Just like my baby, but mine's red.

I hate the 156's without the skirts though.. it just doesn't look right.

I haven't the skirts.... it looks indeed less sporty but nice though !
The big middle grill is very "sexy", reminds a low-necked.

... without the skirts :

I completely agree with Volken -- I think the original 156 is probably one of the most beautiful cars of its generation. In fact "Car" magazine, in their 40th anniversary issue, listed it amongst the most beautiful cars of all time.

Many times I have thought of selling my 1998 model 156 and "moving on" to newer Alfas, but I have put in a lot of effort into making my car just the way I like it (tweaked susoension and brakes; side-skirts; leather upholstery), that I can't bring myself to selling it.

I have covered a largely trouble-free 115,000 km in my car and it still drives beautifully. In order to keep it running trouble-free for many more years, I am planning to rebuild / blueprint / balance the engine and gearbox next year, rather than buy a new car.

Regards,

Rehan
