ignition problems
hey, suppose we put a crane ignition in a friends car and now the engine boggs in 1st gear at low rpms...like 500-1500...i suppose it does it in all gears, but he i dont think i have ever hit below 1500 in 2nd gear. if you let it do it for long enough or if you give it more gas it will eventually knock and maybe really loud...but other than that it runs fine. the timing is perfect, it sounds perfect, it didnt lose any power... i've never had this happen before.
this happen often to anyone else? |

Yeh mine bogs but not that low. Check your cap, rotor and coil. Also check the spark plugs and wires.

does it always do it? what do you do to stop it.
we installed the crane hi-6s and the coil, the crane honda/acura distributor kit, and the installation went fine but now it does this...i think he is getting the wires and ngk iridium plugs too so that might stop it, i guess ill find out. |

Actually i'm tryin to figure out whats goin on. It keeps burnin my coil off. I think one of the wires is loose so i'm guessin its shorting it out.

Check all of our grounds...are you still running stock plugs and wires...if so that could be part of the problem, the stock wires arent made to handle the increase in voltage from the new ignition..I installed a Holley ignition system in my car and was having trouble with firing, but i made better grounds and it fixed it...
