engine swap ???

my civic is getting pretty old now for an 88, well the engine is aslo too ..i was wondering wat kind of engine should i get....wat do u guys think is the fastest engine that could fit in an 88 civic hb??? i was thinking about an integ type R engine or a civic type R engine....wat do u guys think i should throw in the old 88 civic??

i'd stay away from the type r engine. If you wanna 1.8 motor then gsr would be your best choice. Or you can get b16 if you wanna go cheap.It seems like you have money for b-series so yeh thats why i'm suggesting a b-series motor and not d-series

A H22 is a good choice if you don't mind the extra weight in the front.

h22 is a good choice if you don't mind no ac as well, the only people i know of w/ h22 in the engine bay use them for race only.
i'de personally say go w/ a b18 motor if money is no object but if you need something to drop in fast and that will be fast get a zc, they are run about the same price as replacement engines from japan and cheeper than us rebuilt engines... loads cheeper.

whats wrong with the c5? ide say go for it if you can afford it.....just the other night at the races i seen a build c5 hatch run against a modded Grand National and spank it by 3 cars

if you wanna go cheap ide say ls...save some more money then turbo the bitch

Well with the extra 1500 he can put that towards the gsr motor and be faster then a type r. I mean shit i got a c5 but thats the short block. Its called a "poor mans" type r.

You could have a boosted 1st gen B16 for the price of a C5.
They're a nice motor and I would love an ITR tranny, but I'm a firm believer that they're hugley overpriced because of the demand for people to have a "TypeARRG" motor. The coolness.
