b16a vs 94 LS

i'm swapping an engine into my 88 crx. which engine would run a faster 1/4 mile time? any help is appreciated.

I think the b16 would jdm b got 170hp ls has 142hp as for the tq the ls would get a better start but shortly down the line the b16 would win the

You'd probably want the 160 hp non OBD 1st gen B16A. Just an easier swap but you'd still pull a better time than an LS

Thanks for the info. I went into horizon and got a quote for the complete changeover. it was 3000 for everything including new water pump and timing belt, is this a good price?

That's average. I assume the engine, tranny, ecu runs around 1400-1500 and other parts and labor runs around the same.

B16a from SI-R 1 is the best idea here. An 88 is cable trans, and also non-OBD. The 94 LS engine would be hydro trans and OBD 1, way too much fuss to put hat engine in. Now if you had a 90-91 B18A1, I would say go with that and turbo it.
