Question purpose of rims

someone told me the original purpose for rims, but i forgot. i think they said something about improving your mileage. is that or is it something else?

Some people upgrade wheels for looks and others do it for performance. You can actually get better mpg if the wheels you get are lighter than your OEM wheels.

But most of the time you get better cornering, better braking, and better acceleration because the tires you use are wider.

Without rims you couldnt have tires & you would get very shitty gas mileage

heavy rims with reduce gas mileage
