timing advance?

Hey everybody,
I am new to the tib world, and I keep seeing mods on ebay for timing advance mods, all claim to be safe, but what it does is supposedly "tricks" your computer into thinking it's running warmer than it should and adjusted the timing a few degrees, but within specifications. My question is: has anyone tried this, or does anyone know if this really will help give me hp gains without hurting my car?

one it makes the computer think the engine is colder than what it really is

and 2 don't do it i had asked this alread and you really don;t want to mess with your computer like someone told me get a cold air intake and new plugs(ngk)

I put the chip on my car and you only notice it for the first 25-30ft. of take off. Is it worth the $5-$10, yes. If you are racing , buy it, if not don't bother.
