JUN 3 cams vs skunk2 stg. 3 cams
Anybody have experience with either JUN 3 cams or Skunk2 stage 3 cams? They would be going into an b16a head on a b20 block...compression would be around 12:1 as well.High end is a big factor in what im looking for (7000+rpms). Its a daily driver so input on how the idle/emissions would be is also a factor too. Suggestions welcomed as well

you'll deff need springs and retainers also you'll need something that would bump up your redline to get more use out of them, idle with stage 3 would be kinda high so....its gonna cost a pretty penny....make sure your sure you want that

Thanks for the reply. I forgot about the springs/retainers needing to be replaced with stronger ones. I was somewhat confused when you said "you'll need something that would bump up your redline". Do you mean an ECU with a set higher redline?
Thanks.

Yes a reprogrammed ECU will get you a higher redline but the engine you describe is not a suggested street engine. The cams alone are rated for race only. It sounds like a high compression dream but I would not feel comfortable daily driving for two reasons.......
1. I would probably kill myself just enjoying it daily 2. Something will break or wear in the stop and go of daily driving |

yeah for a street set up you should do stage 2 cames, dual springs, the titanium retainers, and bump c/r down to at least 11:1. a built race engine won't last long if its daily driven.

Thanks for the advice. I just wanted your opinions before I actually started ordering parts. Having a c/r of 12:1 on 93 octane require ignition timing of some sort? I would probably keep it lower just to be safe but im curious.Thanks.

Skunk2 stage 2 or 3 Cams will definitely make more power that the Jun 3's, that is from my personal experiences.
Upgraded Valve springs are a must.
