Battery Relocation

I am getting ready to relocate my battery. I bought a kit and I need to run a 2 gauge wire from the engine bay to the trunk. I have a system and drilled a hole for the power line but this 2 gauge is big and don't want to make the whole any bigger. I remember reading that there is a firewall cut behind the left dust cover. Is this true? and supposedly leads next to the dead peddle.

Yea there is a hole large enough in the firewall, but you might try running it under the car (opposite fuel line). Another good idea is to vent your trunk if you have a venting battery.

Just an idea.

What does a venting battery mean? How do you vent the trunk?

Venting means venting from the box to outside the car.

Batteries can give off hydrogen. Hydrogen can go boom. You need to vent the battery enclosure outside the car.

I dont know if you have done it already, but i found a perfect place to do mine. When you take off the fender liner, you will see where the hood release cable goes through the firewall. I simply cut a notch in the rubber seal, ran the cable through there and sealed it back up...no water can get in and you didnt hafta drill anything, plus it makes it neat when you are running back under the carpet.

an easier way to run the gauge wire to the back is through the hole where all the ecu harness come together through the firewall..that's what i did and there seem to be no problem squeezing the gauge cable through...after that, just run the cable underneath the floor carpets (not the floor matt) and you wont be able to see a thing.
