R34gtt vs s15

Raced my mate in the weekend, he has the 184kw Sylvia s15. I was looking to buy one, wasn't too sure whether to get one or a second hand GTR. The day I went to look at the s15, they were due to release the R34 in two days time. Spotting it in the back of the show room and I immediately thought it was a new GTR and rushed over like an excited kid.

Nissan had kept it very quiet that they had brought them into the Country. Well, I took it for a test drive and the rest is history. First NZ owner of an R34gtt I'm lead to beleave, not that that means much.

Well, I convinced my mate to buy an s15 not long after as he couldn't afford the R34, 20K difference. And since then I've read that they are quicker than the R34. This has proved a little frustrating considering the extra dosh I spent to get a slower car.

Back to the race, unfortunately for me the s15 was quicker. But what was interesting was that we had a rolling start in second from 40km/h. It went like this - I jump ahead (extra torque) then he quickly came back pulling half his car length ahead until 155km/h at which point the R34 started to pull up even, by 190km/h we were back to door by door. At which time both our speed limiters intervened. I had a passanger and he didn't. I would say the s15 is quick to 160km/h but the R34 is mush faster after those speeds.

So I,m still happy with my purchase - SKYLINES RULE!:finger: :flash:

It's another Nissan car, a compact two-door coupe. The S15 being the latest version at the time of writing.

Read these links for photos/comments/mods etc:

The reason I asked was becuase in the states(US) you don't see these names (Sylvia, S15) these cars are known for their other names(Nissan 240SX).

Now what was really interesting was that Velocity posted
Quote:

quicker then a GTR34....

You don't see too many cars that are at all comparable to a GTR34...
Simply that car just EATS up anything on the road...

I attached a pic of a very, very nice... HRE GTR34
The pic was taken by that guy, he's one of the clublexus memebers.

Thanks again....

a highly mod S15 can whoop GTRs .. especially at the same hp/torque level..Its basically Power to weight ratio. I would prefer 180sx But u aussies never landed (the 180sx) to ur shores. Heh 180sx target bodykit s15 conversion or bomex ichi-go now thats way better!

that is a queer thing to say...

Highly modded.. vs highly modded there are a million variables to being faster.. and their would be much wait difference once they are both stripped out for racing..

Anyway, he said road, and nothing beats the GTR on the road.

Those pics are of Craig Lieberman's R34, formerly the "Blackbird" R34 GTR Vspec II owned by the owner of MotoRex. Craig is the NIRA director and technical director/advisor for "The Fast and The Furious."
Damn nice car.

I second that GTS-4 Ben.....

Angus R33, you know the answer to your statement...:smoker2:
Skyline would be the center of attention instead of the supra, altough I do wonder why they chose the supra instead of the skyline...
Maybe in F&F2 they'll use a skyline

SpeedAddict...
Thanks for the info, I was kinda curious as to who owned that "Blackbird Beauty" WOW...
