Need some tips on installing AC compressor

I want to install AC compressor on my Honda Accord EX 1990 myself. I need some help in discharging the freon. The Honda mannual does not discuss about how to discharge freon. Can anybody tell me how to do it. Is there any health hazard because of high pressure of the freon, Should I wear protective glasses etc. Also do I also need to install a new drier or can do with the old one.

Thanks a lot.

I can only help you out about the freeon, no clue about the drier. If the freeon is R-12, you really SHOULD take it somewhere, it is the responsible thing to do. If it is 134-A, it is ok to let it out, but you need to be careful. I would wear gloves, and have something covering my eyes. To discharge it, just loosen the bolts on one of the lines going into the compressor until a white cloud comes out. Do this in a fairly well ventalated area.
