Its a $300 buck bass, not too bad, considering its my first. AFter this, im planning on getting a five string bass.

Ibanez is a good choice for starters but before getting the 5 string get a better brand to get used to playing mid to high end equipment. My suggestion would be a samick for your upgrade if you wish to do so. If not Samic then a Fender American made model.

oh yeah, definetley. I know ibanez isnt the best, but they are REALLY good for their price, plus im not asking much out of the guitar, not yet anyway.

Now, this bass that i have shown up there isnt the best bass out there. It what we would call a "decent" bass. But i heard from maaaaany sources that it's a great bass for beginners (like me) to start out with. And for only $200 (through musiciansfriend.com) its a steal! most mid grade basses will start at 500 and up, and high end at around 800 and up. I dont have that kind of money to spend yet (not until i become a famous metal bassis and make millions of dollars, )

They have REALLY cheap prices for all of there stuff, im saving 36% on my bass.

edit: oh yeah, and for any guys thinking of picking up guitar, chicks really dig guitar players, especailly good ones. And for the women, i can say that i'd really dig a chick that can stomp my ass with a badass riff.

Anyhoo, i pretty much doo have a band, sorta. My neighbors, (who got me into playing) are both guitarists, twins nonetheless, hehe, but anyway, all we need is a drummer. We plan on doing Metallica and other band covers at first, until we get good enough to start writing our own songs.

Hell, maybe i'll be famous someday and you'll see me on the T.V. I promise to give a call out to all my AF friends if i'm ever on the boob tube.
