Radiator

are you suppose to fill a certain amount of heat off this thing cause a few minutes ago i was driving and the CEL came on so i went home popped the hood and the damn the was red hot. But the check engine light went away.

also are both of the fans on the radiator suppose to work at the samt time cause i only saw the big one come on and it was blowing hot air.

The two fans on the radiator are the cooling fan and the a/c fan. The a/c fan only runs when the a/c is on. So the radiator was seriously, red hot? 'cause that doesn't sound right at all.

It couldn't turn red hot. The engine at normal temp runs about 180* so those radiator hoses would blow off or something way before it got to 600* or whatever to make it red hot.

it is normal for most everything under your hood to be very hot while operating or just afterwards.
