oil question

can i mix oil say if i was using 10w 40 and wanted to switch to 20w 50 can i do that cause im low on oil and i heard i can use 20w 52 to help stop my valve clatter.

I wouldn't do it. You have to flush everything out. That oil is too thick anyways.

What happens when you mix synthetic and regular? I hear people say that, but none of them can give me a reason other than "you're not supposed to"

I always use Castrol Syntec blend 10W-30. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Syntec blend half synthetic and half regular?

Yeah i have heard that is okay to do too.... a poor mans syntheic blend.... 3 quarts normal 1 quart pure synethic. Costs an extra 4 bucks but it will save 5 or 6 bucks on 4 quarts of synthitc blend.
